During his tenure, Cohen has actively represented the township’s interests on keyboards, including the Planning Board, Millburn Free Public Library Board of Trustees, Cora Hartshorn Arboretum Board of Trustees, and the Township Finance Committee. Drawing on his extensive business experience and top-tier MBA education, he has prioritized fiscal responsibility and strategic investments to enhance the quality of life in Millburn.

- Flood Mitigation Efforts: Provided funding for drainage improvements in South Mountain and advocated for responsible flood prevention measures in Van Winkle (Glenwood) while protecting the Cora Hartshorn Arboretum.

- Supporting Local Businesses & the Arts: Secured infrastructure support for the Paper Mill Playhouse, ensuring its continued role as a driver of local economic growth.

- Business Improvement District (SID): Supported the growth of Explore Millburn-Short Hills, resulting in lower commercial vacancy rates and a surge in community events.
- Historic Preservation: Ensured the Arboretum’s inclusion in Millburn’s newest historic district, opening new opportunities for infrastructure improvement grants.
- Environmental Stewardship: Advocated for the inclusion of the Cora Hartshorn Arboretum, a key stakeholder, in the ordinance requiring native plants in town-owned land management decisions to strengthen local ecology.
