Former Mayor Jackie Benjamin Lieberberg endorses Romano and Cohen
I am writing to share my support for the re-election of Mayor Annette Romano and Deputy Mayor Michael Cohen.
I have witnessed first-hand their dedication and responsiveness to the needs of our constituents and believe they have the business acumen and best interests of all residents — their accomplishments are noteworthy and listed below:
- HIRED additional police officers, invested in and
- IMPROVED technology and communications with residents regarding home and car burglaries on a timely basis, which has resulted in CRIME REDUCTION in the township.
- INITIATED the Community Policing Unit, which has provided our residents with more resources, including the Home Safety Assessment Program, which provides residents with important safety tips to protect their homes and families. “Coffee with a Cop“ has also greatly increased public education and interaction.
- PROVIDED funding to address drainage improvements in both South Mountain and Glenwood neighborhoods.
- SUPPORTED local businesses and ENGAGED in innovative programming that has had a POSITIVE community impact on residents, businesses and visitors. The Town Hall Plaza closure has created a genuine community vibe for all to enjoy and participate in.
- IMPROVED investment in road construction.
- PROVED their ability to work across the aisle on important issues and restored civility to Township Committee meetings.
- SUPPORTED upgrades to Town Hall, Bauer Community Center, and Millburn Public Library renovations.
- RECEIVED nearly $3.0 Million in GRANTS for the municipality, including $500K for the Gilbert Pump Station.
- FOUGHT overdevelopment and unfair Fair Share Housing practices.
